Shaun Kanelombe - B/U8 Chess Champ |
We had 5 students from
MCA taking part in this event and came home with 4 medals.
We had Shaun Kanelombe
in the boys U/8 section winning gold with 4/7 matches, etching out his rivals
with a superior tie-break. Shaun has won his second gold medal for the year.
In the Girls U/12, we had our WCM Ottilie Hinda battling her peers and she scored 5/7 to take home the bronze medal. She won a gold medal earlier this year which makes it her 2nd medal for the year. We also had Ngujama Kaputuaza who scored only 2/7 in her maiden chess tournament. Ngujama learned a lot and can't wait for her next event.
