MCA Students made their presence known by slicing through their opponents like a hot knife through butter.

We will start with girls under 9, Shishani Itembu showed great skill with a score of 6.5/7 to take the gold medal.

Boys under 9 we had Oresen Hinda with 4/7 and Mwetako Niitembu with 3/7. They did not win any medals but showed great fighting spirit.

Girls under 11, we had Ngujama Kaputuaza with 4/7 with a 7th position. We know she is on the right path for the future events. Daria Burger also participated with 2.5/7. She too showed great fighting spirit.

Boys under 11, we had the novelty player Tapiwanashe Katsvara who scored 6/7 and scooped the gold. Worth mentioning is Jack Alison who scored 3/7 with a 9th place. Keep on pushing Jack we know you have the goods for next time.

Girls under 13, Here we had WCM Ottilie Hinda, better known as Oyo with her brutal attacking chess. Oyo proved that she still got the goods with a perfect score of 6/6. With such performance comes the glorious reward of a gold medal.

Boys under 13, we had none other than Shali Itembu. Shali scored 5/7 to clinched the bronze medal. We also had Tangeni Kanelombe in this age group in 6th place after scoring 4/7.

The under 15 and under 17, girls and boys were grouped together and we had a very convincing performance by Stefan Becker who dominated the section with 7/7.

Congratulations to all our students. We are off to a great start with our brand new Academy. We are super proud of you all and cannot wait to show you more of the finer tactical ideas in chess. Thank you for the support of our Parents too. We value your contribution enormously.
